Big Splash, or "Hong Dong" in Chinese, is an 11-month-old that recently sold in China for 10 million yuan, which is equal to about $1.5 million.
The dog, which stands nearly three feet high and weighs more than 180 pounds, was sold in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao.
The Telegrah newspaper in the United Kingdom reports that Tibetan Mastiffs have stood watch over nomad camps and monasteries on the Tibetan plateau for centuries.
